ME & WILL
Nobody Rides For Free
A classic journey of two L.A. women who break out of
rehab and take to the American Highway on their motorcycles in search of the legendary
chopper ridden by Peter Fonda in "Easy Rider".
Jane (SHERRIE ROSE) is a poet/writer who lives in her
eclectic Winnebago with her strung-out boyfriend Fast Eddie (PATRICK DEMPSEY). Jane is a
heroin addict who uses drugs as an escape from her tormented life. She is secretly haunted
by the memories of being abused as a child.
Will, (MELISSA BEHR) is a painter who lives in a
downtown loft, secluded from the world. For her, relationships are constant
disappointments, and she uses pot and alcohol as a cure for her desperate loneliness.
Life comes down hard on Jane and Will when after a
wild night of partying, Jane overdoses and Will crashes her Harley. Broken, they both end
up in rehab, together.
Jane and Will immediately bond when they sneak into
the rehabs recreation room to watch "Easy Rider". When Will tells Jane she
knows that the movies red, white and blue chopper is in her hometown in Montana,
Jane suggests they bust out to find it.
So begins the 1080-mile trek that takes Jane and
Will across the scenic landscape on the open road in search of their Holy Grail. Vowing to
stay off drugs until they reach their destinations, their journey becomes a quest of
self-discovery and rebirth, and a test of their resolve and friendship.
